OpenSeason · Legal
Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 11, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how OpenSeason (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use openseason.life and related services (the “Service”).
This is a practical policy for an early-stage product. It is not legal advice. Regional rules (e.g. GDPR, CCPA) may give you additional rights.
1. Who we are
OpenSeason is the operator of the Service at openseason.life. Contact: privacy@openseason.life.
2. Information we collect
Account data
- Email address, optional name, and password (stored as a hash)
- Plan, subscription status, and billing-related identifiers (e.g. Stripe customer id)
- Onboarding status and similar product preferences
Workspace content you create
- Areas, goals, tasks, items, relations, tags, facets
- Signals / captures and conversation messages with the coach
- Automation drafts and other in-app structure you choose to store
Usage and technical data
- LLM usage events (model, tokens when available, estimated cost, activity type)
- Approximate interaction counts for plan limits
- Server logs needed for security, debugging, and reliability (IP, user agent, timestamps)
Payments
Card payments are processed by Stripe (or a similar processor). We do not store full card numbers. The processor’s privacy policy applies to payment data they collect.
3. How we use information
- Provide, secure, and improve the Service
- Run coach, chat, and extraction features you request
- Enforce plan limits, prevent abuse, and measure reliability
- Communicate about the Service (security, billing, material product changes)
- Comply with law and protect our rights and users
We do not sell your personal information.
4. AI processing
When you use coach, thing chat, or signal extraction, relevant content is sent to AI model providers (such as Anthropic or OpenAI) to generate responses. Those providers process data under their terms and privacy policies and our API configuration. Do not submit secrets or highly sensitive data you are not comfortable sending to such providers.
Areas marked with high privacy settings may limit external model use where the product supports that control.
5. Sharing
We share data only as needed with:
- Infrastructure providers (hosting, databases, email if used)
- AI model providers for features you invoke
- Payment processors for paid plans
- Professional advisors or authorities when required by law or to protect rights and safety
If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your information may transfer subject to continued privacy protections.
6. Retention
We keep account and workspace data while your account is active. You can export and delete data from Settings where those tools are available. After deletion we may retain limited records for legal, security, or billing purposes for a reasonable period. Logs and usage metrics may be retained in aggregate or for shorter operational windows.
7. Security
We use industry-standard measures appropriate to an early SaaS product (hashed passwords, access controls, encrypted transport). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
8. Your choices and rights
- Access and update account details in Settings
- Export workspace data (JSON export where available)
- Delete your account (hard delete where available)
- Stop using AI features by not invoking coach/chat/extract (core product depends on them)
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port personal data, or to object to certain processing. Contact us to exercise those rights. You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
9. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.
10. International transfers
We may process data in the United States and other countries where our providers operate. By using the Service you understand that your information may be transferred to those locations.
11. Cookies and similar tech
We use essential cookies or similar storage for authentication and session security. We do not currently use advertising trackers. If that changes, we will update this policy.
12. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy. We will post the revised version with a new “Last updated” date. Material changes may be highlighted in-product when practical.
